EOS/Multigroup Opacity Files
The main opacity and equation of state data during a PROPACEOS
simulation is written to a single file named:
{Run_Name}.prp
where "Run_Name" is the run name specified at the beginning of the
simulation.
The file contains:
- plasma composition data
- grid specifications for temperature, density, and photon energy grids
- ion, electron, and total internal specific energies
- ion, election, and total pressures
- Rosseland, Planck absorption, and Planck emission multigroup opacities
- For formats greater than 2:
- Rosseland, Planck absorption, and Planck emission frequency integrated
opacities
- For formats greater than 3:
- Ionization fractions for each ion stage included in the atomic model
file.
- For formats greater than 4:
- For formats greater than 5:
- Flags to indicate if the EOS data and the opacity data are written.
- For formats greater than 6:
- An isotope index for each atom. An index of -1 indicates the natural
form.
- For formats greater than 7:
- The atomic weight of each element is written to the file.
- For formats greater than 8:
- Significant changes in the structure of the data in the header of the file. Independent variables in previous versions were limited to plasma temperature and ion number density. With file format 9 or newer, EOS and opacity tables can be generated on a grid of up to six independent variables. EOS and opacity data may have a different set of independent variables. For each independent variable, IDs and grids are written to the file.
