Details of files used by Visualizer

The following files may be used:
Copy of workspace file <RUN_NAME>.swc
Energy and Transition data file <RUN_NAME>.etd
Log file <RUN_NAME>.log
Detector images <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.dti
Simulation properties <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.sim
Spectrum <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.sis
Space resolved spectral files <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.srh or .srv
Optical depth iso-surfaces <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.ods
LOS output file <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.ilo
Populations data file <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.pop
Zone intensity data file <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>.zdi
Zone specific data file <RUN_NAME>_<time_index>_<zone_number>.zdt

Not all of the files may be present, depending on the details of the simulation.

Copy of workspace file - *.swc:

This is an exact copy of the workspace in Spect3D at the time the simulation started.

Energy and Transition data file - *.etd:

The file contains a listing of the atomic energy levels and transitions considered in the calculation. It is used to produce the transitions table used with the spectral plots.

The following files are present for each time step.

Log file - *.log

Contains some of the atomic data used in the simulation plus other miscellaneous information. May contain error messages if the simulation failed.

Detector images file - *.dti

Contains the following information and data for the image at the detector. View sample dti file

Simulation properties file - *.sim

Contains:

Space integrated spectral file - *.sis

The first column is the photon energy in eV, the second is the space integrated intensity at the detector in erg/cm2/eV.

Spatially resolved spectral files - *.srh, *.srv

The horizontally (.srh) and vertically (.srv) resolved intensity at the detector. The three columns in the file are:

Optical depth iso-surfaces file - *.ods

Contains data locating the depth of surfaces of the optical depths entered in the workspace. These data are not yet displayed by Visualizer. The columns are:

LOS output file - *.ilo

Written during drilldown. Equivalent to the .log file produced during the original simulation

Populations file - *.pop

Only written for a non-LTE calculation. Contains the populations for each atomic level (or group of levels if population collapsing is used) for each zone.

Zone intensity file - *.zdi

Contains the intensity at each detector pixel from each plasma zone as well as the space integrated intensity from each zone.

Zone specific data file - *.zdt

Contains several plasma variable values and the populations and ionization fractions for a specific zone.
