PROPACEOS is the Prism Opacity and Equation of State application and library. It is built upon algorithms of the SPECT3D spectral analysis code and data from the ATBASE suite of atomic structure and cross section codes.
In SPECT3D, PROPACEOS multigroup opacity data is used when selecting a Tabular Opacities model in the Plasma Elements tab.
The PROPACEOS code generates multigroup opacities and equation of state data for single elements and mixtures. PROPACEOS Opacity/EOS data files can be used in several codes developed by Prism Computational Sciences, including PrismSPECT, HELIOS, and SPECT3D.
PROPACEOS opacities include effects of bound-bound, free-free, and bound-free transitions, with the bound-free cross sections and bound-bound oscillator strengths being based on Hartree-Fock atomic structure calculations.
By default, PROPACEOS files are installed in a folder located in the Prism Atomic Data Library.
Contact Prism for information on how to obtain files for specific materials.
