Example: Argon Doped Implosion

Setting up the Materials

Click on the Materials button or on the Next button on the Plasma page.

Add the two materials in the sample:

1) Ar doped Deuterium.

• Click on the New material... button.
  • Change the Material name to Fuel.
  • Leave the Opaque emitter box unchecked.
• Select VOL_FRACTION_01 from the HydroVariable combo box.
• Enter the mean atomic weight of 2.0.
• Material Type: leave the default selection of DCA (detailed atomic modeling).
  • Click on the Add... button and click on D on the periodic table.
  • Set the default number fraction to 0.999.
  • Click on the Add... button and click on Ar on the periodic table.
  • Set the default number fraction to 0.001.

    

2) Plastic.

• Click on the New material... button.
  • Change the Material name to CH.
  • Leave the Opaque emitter box unchecked.
  • Select VOL_FRACTION_02 from the HydroVariable combo box.
  • Enter the mean atomic weight of 6.5.
• Material Type: change model to Non-DCA (table lookup).
  • Select the Custom radio button, click Browse and search for the CH.prp tabulated opacity file in the Examples -> Spect3D_data folder.
