Preferences

In some applications, the option to set preferences for all plots or for a subset of plots may be offered.

General preferences:

The default fonts for the graph title, the axes title, the legend and the tick labels can be set. The tick labels use a fixed pitch font to ensure that the labels on the y axis will line up.

Axis preferences:

The default axis type, position and the visibility of the axis components can be set.

The tick style and appearance can be set. The styles available are:

• default: the program will try to use whichever style gives the more compact label
• decimal: e.g. 1.2345
• scientific: e.g. 1.2345e+5
• engineering: e.g. as scientific but the power is a multiple of 3
