Conventions and Units

Conventions:

Conventions utilized in the VISRAD on-line documentation are listed below.

Menu Item Selection:

Menu item selection is illustrated by the following example:

File | Open

Select the "Open" menu item under the "File" menu.

 

Apply | OK | Cancel Button Definitions:

Apply	Save parameters. Dialog box remains visible.
OK	Save parameters. Dialog box is hidden.
Cancel	Do not save parameters. Dialog box is hidden.

Units:

In general, the following units are used throughout VISRAD.

 

Distance	cm*
Angle	degrees
Temperature	eV
Power	TW
Radiation Flux	TW/cm2
Energy	kJ
Time	sec

* The units used in entering position and size data in several of the widgets can be specified by the user to be either cm or mm. To set the default units to be used, go to the User Interface tab of the Preferences dialog.
