Setting Up the Grid: Spherical Capsule

Perform the following steps to set up a capsule at the center of the hohlraum.

• Select Target | Add Object.
• Select "Sphere" for the target component type.
• Set the object name to "Capsule".
• In the Position tab of the Object Parameters Dialog:
• For the Reference Coordinate System, use "Hohlraum".
• Use the default object position: r = (0,0,0). That is, put the centroid of the capsule at the origin of the Hohlraum coordinate system..
• Use the default orientation angles. The pole of the sphere will lie along the hohlraum axis.
• In the Size/Gridding tab of the Object Parameters Dialog:
  • Set the capsule radius to 0.025 cm.
  • Set the number of polar grid points to 13, and azimuthal grid points to 24.
  • Set the surface normals facing out.
• Select "OK" in the Object Parameters Dialog.
