Sample Problem: Time-Dependent Z-Pinch Hohlraum
Setting Up the Grid: Thin Foil Outside of Open Slot
To set up the foil:
Select
Target | Add Object
(or push the Add Object tool button).
Select "Rectangle" for the target component type.
Set the object name to "Foil".
In the
Position
tab of the Object Parameters Dialog:
For the Reference Coordinate System, use "Target Chamber".
Use a cartesian coordinate system to set the object position.
Set the object position to:
x
= 7.43 cm,
z
= 2.14 cm.
Use the
polar
orientation angle to 90 degrees (this rotates the rectangle about the y-axis, so that is is vertical).
Use a
azimuthal
orientation angle of 0 degrees.
In the
Size/Gridding
tab of the Object Parameters Dialog:
Set the x-length to 0.8 cm.
Set the y-length to 2.0 cm.
Set surface normals down.
Use 9grid points in the x-direction.
Use 11 grid points in the y-direction.
Select "OK".
The foil is now added to the graphics window.
