Space-Dependent Line Plots

Space-dependent line plots are controlled in Spatial tab widget.

A variety of quantities can be displayed as a function of position. Options for the position variable are:

Because HELIOS is a Lagrangian hydrodynamics code, the mass in a given volume element does not change with time. So when plotting results as a function of either Zone index or Mass, the volume element positions along the x-axis are the same at all times.

The quantities available for plotting will depend on the parameters used during the HELIOS simulation.

To select simulations times, either:

In the latter case, the simulation time displayed on the plot is changed using the up and down arrow keys.

After a selection has been made, click on the Plot button. An example is shown below.

If the atomic level populations have been written out for a HELIOS collisional-radiative (CR) calculation, they will be listed in a separate box below the main box. Clicking in the populations box will cause the times for which populations are available to be displayed. The population of a selected individual leve can be plotted.
