Output Files

During a HELIOS simulation, the following output files are generated:

a binary file containing plot data in a format suitable for HYDROPLOT.
an ascii log file containing simulation and debug output
a NetCDF file that can be used by SPECT3D to compute detailed spectra and images and also by HYDROPLOT.
a copy of the workspace file used in running the simulation.
a file generate to support Restart calculations.

The naming convention for the files is:

binary plot file	<RUN_NAME>.bpf
log file	<RUN_NAME>.log
NetCDF file	<RUN_NAME>.exo
workspace copy	<RUN_NAME>.rhc
restart file	<RUN_NAME>.hrs

where <RUN_NAME> is the simulation run name.

The output files are written to the directory specified in the Set Run Parameters dialog.

The ascii log output file contains selected plasma properties, as well as energy conservation accounting, and possible warning messages issued at runtime.
