Each atomic element in a SPECT3D calculation utilizes an atomic model file. Atomic model files have the default extension "*.atm".
Each atomic model file is associated with an ATBASE data file, which contains all the detailed collisional and radiative data required for the SPECT3D simulation. Atomic model and ATBASE data files contain data for a single atomic element.
Atomic model files contain information on which of the energy levels from ATBASE data files are selected for a simulation, and how they are collapsed (i.e., their degree of level splitting). Contents of each atomic model file include:
SPECT3D is distributed with ATBASE data files and series of preconfigured atomic model files.
