Example: X-Ray Scattering

Setting up the X-Ray Source Parameters

Click on the Source tab. Enter values as described below:

• Energy
  • Photon energy (eV): enter 6181
• Profile
  • Profile type: enter Table from the drop down-menu. Push the Setup... button to launch the X-Ray Line Shape dialog. In the dialog, use File, Import data... to browse for the file SourceSpectrum.txt located in the Examples -> X-RayScattering folder. Leave the default interpolation method set to Linear. Click OK. Note: the absolute units on the scattered spectrum may not be correct when using table input, though the shape will be correct.
  • Bins per pixel: enter 1.

  

  • Source Position (cm): select Cartesian and enter the values 0 (X), 0.216 (Y), and 0 (Z).
  • Scattering Energy (eV):
    • Maximum loss: enter 1000.
    • Maximum gain: enter 200.
    • Energy step: enter 1.
