Clipping Volume Parameters Dialog

Clipping Volumes are used to remove portions of surfaces of Target Components.

The screenshots below show examples of: two cylinders clipping each other (left) and a box clipped by a sphere (right).

      

 

A Clipping Volume operates on one Target Component (i.e., one Clipping Volume does not clip multiple Target Components).

Parameters for each Clipping Volume are specified using the Clipping Volume Parameters Dialog.

For a given Target Component, each Clipping Volume must have a unique name. When adding a new Clipping Volume, the Clipping Volume Parameters Dialog is displayed and a default name is provided.

When setting up the grid, it is often useful to display the clipping volumes. This is done by selecting Show | Clipping Volumes.
