Setting Object Material Properties

Material properties are specified on an object-by-object basis. Editing the viewing parameters of multiple objects simultaneously is also supported.

Material properties include:

• Albedo
• X-ray conversion efficiency
• Power (an object's self-emission)
• Laser reflectivity

For each quantity, VISRAD supports specifying either:

• a constant, time-independent value
• variable, time-dependent values

To specify time-dependent parameters, check the Variable box, and enter values into the time-dependent two-column tables.

Target components can be selected or deselected for use in calculations of the laser energy deposition and radiation fluxes. Separate flags can be set to include or ignore target components in calculating the following:

• direct (i.e., non-reflected) laser light energy deposition
• reflected laser light energy deposition
• radiation flux.

By default, when a new target component is added to the grid, it is included in all aspects of the calculations.
