Importing NIF CMT File Data into VISRAD

VISRAD can import laser beam data from a XML-formatted file generated by the NIF CMT.

To import CMT file data into VISRAD, select File | Import Laser Beam Data | Pointing Data . VISRAD laser beam parameters will be overwritten by the data contained in the CMT data file.

The following laser beam pointing data from the CMT file can be imported into VISRAD:

• Pointing Data:
  • Pointing position, with pointing provided in Cartesian (x,y,z) coordinates in the target chamber coordinate system.
  • Defocus (a positive value moves the lens towards the target)
  • For both position and defocus variables, units of "cm", "mm", and "um" (microns) are supported.

Next
