The following types of equation of state (EOS) models are supported by HELIOS:
Both SESAME and PROPACEOS use EOS data read in from files.
If the ideal gas option is chosen, the Gamma(Cp/Cv) parameter for the gas can be specified and the effects of ionization can be included by checking the Include Ionization Effects check box. If ionization is included, there is an option to enter a constant mean charge.

It is generally convenient to locate all SESAME data files in a single folder (or directory), and all the PROPACEOS files in a single folder. We refer to these as data libraries. The location of the library is shown as the Directory in the EOS tab, which can be changed using the Modify button. (See also, setting up a data library.)
To select an EOS file from a library, select the Library button. A list of files in the library is then provided in the combo box.
Alternatively, the user can utilize a SESAME or PROPACEOS file outside of the library by selecting Other, and using the Browse button to locate the desired file.
