Sample Problem: Cylindrical Hohlraum at OMEGA

Setting Albedos and X-ray Conversion Efficiencies

Setting albedos and setting x-ray conversion efficiencies are performed on an object-by-object basis. That is, all surface elements of an object at any given simulation time have the same albedo, and all have the same x-ray conversion efficiency. In this example, we use the following albedos and x-ray conversion efficiencies.

Object
Albedo
X-ray Conv. Eff.
Hohlraum
Albedo_vs_time_Au.dat (variable)
0.55 (constant)
Capsule
0.3 (constant)
0.55 (constant)

To set the albedo for an object, double-click on the object name in the Target Components List. Then go to the Material Props tab and:

The file "Albedo_vs_time_Au.dat" is included with the VISRAD examples files.

A similar procedure is used for x-ray conversion efficiencies.
