Setting Source Powers

The pinch is the only object with an intrinsic power source in this example. We use a time-dependent pinch power provided by file data.

To set the source power for the pinch, double-click on it in the Target Components List. Then go to the Material Props tab, check the Variable box, and press the Table button. Then import the data from the file, "pinch_pwr_vs_time_A.dat", which is contained in the examples folder. Table values are in terawatts. For all other objects in the grid, we use a source power of zero (the default).

A plot of the pinch power vs. time can be obtained by selecting Plot | Table Data in the table dialog. An example plot is shown below.
