Chamber Components

Chamber Components are items composed of one or more:

• primative objects (e.g., spheres, boxes, cylinders) and/or
• objects contained in STEP- or STL-formated CAD files.

Chamber Components:

• are primarily used for CAD and visualization purposes;
• are not considered in laser deposition or radiation flux calculations;
• are stored in memory as an array of nodes and polygons, and their grids generally do not need to be edited or regenerated;
• can be stored in the Chamber Components Library.

Custom chamber components can be created by the user from one or more Target Components.

Example images of Chamber Components for OMEGA, OMEGA-EP, and NIF are shown below. For each target chamber, the image on the left is from VISRAD, while the image on the right is from either an LLE or LLNL presentation.

To perform these operations, use one of the following:

• items in the Chamber menu
• shortcuts in the main window toolbar
• right-mouse click on one or more selected objects in the Chamber Components List
• (to edit) double-click on an item in the Chamber Components List.
